What happens to reported values if I change the consolidation formula?
The reported values for the measure remain unchanged unless the formula you switch to requires the outcome values to be changed. If the formula requires this, the outcome values will be overwritten and cannot be recovered.
Example: Suppose you have a measure with no consolidation formula at all. Each department can then report its own outcomes at their respective level. If you change the formula to Sum, the outcomes will be overwritten for all departments that have a reporting unit beneath them. However, changing from Sum to No formula will not affect any measures—existing measure data will remain intact.
If you have already distributed the measure to underlying departments and applied a consolidation formula such as Sum, and you then add another department to the consolidation chain, you will lose the previously reported data, as the summation will now be recalculated based on the new unit chain.
